Play Interventions, Counselling & Multisupport Services

Chitambo Multisupport Services is a multiservice organisation supporting children, individuals, families and older adults across the Goulburn Region and Melbourne North.

Our particular strength is therapeutic work with children and families — play interventions, child and family counselling, sand play and narrative approaches, and trauma-informed and family violence-informed support for people from around 3 years of age through to adults. It is an area of genuine service shortage in our region, and it is the work we are built around.

Around that sit our other service streams, delivered by the same team:

  • Child & family wellbeing support, and advocacy & practical support
  • NDIS-funded supports — Support Coordination, Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports
  • Home & lifestyle support and cleaning services
  • Aged care & older adult support
  • Community transport and non-NDIS transport services

Our approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive and strengths-based. We work with people, not just for them.

✨

NDIS & Non-NDIS Clients

We are an NDIS service provider, not an NDIS registered provider. We deliver NDIS-funded Support Coordination, Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports where a participant’s plan and funding arrangements allow — alongside private therapeutic, lifestyle and community services for people outside the scheme.

🌍

CALD Communities

Providing culturally and linguistically diverse support that respects heritage and speaks your language.

The Method Behind Our Care.

Our practice begins with therapy. Play interventions, child and family counselling, narrative and sand play approaches, and family violence-informed support sit at the centre of what we do — surrounded by practical care, lifestyle services, advocacy, aged care and NDIS-funded supports for the same families.

NDIS-Funded Supports at Chitambo

The National Disability Insurance Scheme funds supports for Australians living with disability. NDIS-funded supports are one of our service streams — Support Coordination, Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports — alongside our therapeutic, family, aged care and community services. Please note: Chitambo Multisupport Services is an NDIS service provider, not an NDIS registered provider. We do not hold registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We provide NDIS-funded supports where the participant’s plan, funding arrangements and applicable requirements allow — in practice, generally for self-managed and plan-managed participants. Send us your plan and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Therapeutic work with children and families. Play interventions, child and family counselling, sand play and narrative approaches, and trauma-informed and family violence-informed support are our specialism. We also deliver family support, NDIS-funded supports, aged care, home services and community transport.

No. We are an NDIS service provider but we are not an NDIS registered provider, and we do not hold registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We provide NDIS-funded supports — including Support Coordination, Core Supports and Capacity Building Supports — where the participant’s plan, funding arrangements and applicable requirements allow. In practice this generally means self-managed and plan-managed participants. If you are unsure how your plan is managed, send it to us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

From around 3 years of age. Our work with young children is play-based and developmentally appropriate rather than adult-style talking therapy. We counsel children, young people and adults, so support can continue as a child grows.

Children, young people, adults, families and older adults. We support both NDIS and non-NDIS clients with therapeutic services, child and family support, practical home assistance, transport, advocacy and lifestyle support. You do not need funding, a referral or a diagnosis to contact us.

Yes. All our supports are delivered using a trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive approach. In practice that means safety and pace come before content, nobody is required to disclose before they are ready, and cultural context is treated as central to the work rather than as background detail.

Across the Goulburn Region — Lower and Upper Goulburn — and Melbourne North, including Craigieburn, Epping, Wallan, Seymour and surrounding areas. We are a mobile service: support is delivered in agreed therapeutic spaces, the family home, schools and community venues rather than from a public office.

Contact us by phone, email or through the website. For therapy, the first conversation is with a parent or carer rather than the child. We will discuss what has been happening, tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, and guide you through the next steps.

Yes. We maintain strict confidentiality in line with professional and legal standards, with the standard limits: we must act where there is a risk of serious harm to a person or where child safety is involved. We explain this clearly at the first session.
